When you work for an IT staffing company, you have to have a keen eye for talent. You have to see things that other people might miss or overlook in certain people. Too often, people follow a certain formula when it comes to hiring people. They have a sheet of paper and if someone doesn’t fit what they are looking for or fit into a neat little category, they check them off the list without even giving them a fair chance. That is a real shame because you can miss out on a golden gem just because they don’t check all of your categories and aren’t exactly what you are looking for.
Life isn’t meant to be made up of pieces of paper and just resumes. There is much more to life than that. There are certain measurable that can’t be viewed on a piece of paper. Sometimes you have to throw someone into the water and see if they sink or swim. For instance, someone might have a pitch perfect resume and they look great on paper. However, when they actually have to perform the job and do it, they fold under the pressure and are unable to handle it and find it too overwhelming for them. On the other hand, maybe there is some that is perfect for the job but they might have one or two things missing on their resume.
That is where someone like John Goullet comes in, as he can separate the good from the bad and he has an awareness unlike anyone I’ve ever seen. Diversant considers themselves very lucky to have him on board as he seems to know the answers before others might even know them. He just feels it in his bones. He can read people very well and he knows the right questions to ask and doesn’t follow a specific script of what an employee should be according to a sheet of paper that someone printed out.

Just after Memorial Day weekend the co-founder and CEO of Highland Capital, James Dondero, took a break from managing their extensive pool of hedge funds and CLOs, Collateralized Loan Obligations to announce a new member of the team, Linda Owen. With more than 3 million dollars per year that James Dondero and the team at Highland Capital sets aside for charity, the best philanthropist in the greater Dallas Area is best suited for the task of leading the way for giving back to the community.
So much success has been had by Highland Capitals as it invests in the global market of credit products and innovates its own credit product loan investment and debt account assets. The yield has been long term and phenomenal. Success must be shared, so James Dondero stated that, “Our contributions make the greatest impact in our community and the causes we support.” He is so pleased to have Linda Owen a the helm of the giving management arm of Highland Capital that he described her as, “proven.” with a “track record of building effective public-private partnerships.” Her ability to visualize what the goals in giving are at Highland will fit right in. He also stated that her talents will “make a tangible impact on our community.”
So Dallas is in great shape because of these annual gifts from the team at Highland Capital and The Dallas Foundation, where Linda Owens is President of it charitable grant giving and funding projects. Some of the more high profile recipients of these funds are presidential libraries such as the George W. Bush. Local health science research funding has been granted to the Center for Brain Health. To keep all members of the Dallas community heart healthy, funding is also being granted to the American Heart Association. Keeping the young minds engaged in learning and growing in power through knowledge, the Uplift Education fund has also been chosen for giving. There are many others that will receive financial gifts as well.
Dallas deserves the best from those who have reached the stratosphere in financial success and have a passion for sharing that success through giving as Dondero alongside Linda Owen both do.
